Frequently Asked Questions

Why aren’t there any prices on your website?
We price all events by the location, number of guests, date and any special requests. Please call or email us for pricing specific to your event.

What time do you arrive for my event and how long do you stay?
We usually arrive approximately 1 ½ hrs before your serving time. Our total time onsite is about 4 ½ hrs. 

When do I need to give you a final guest count?
A final guest count is due no later than 10 days in advance. Entree selections and a final serving time are due at that time as well.

What will Clambakes of MA supply?
In addition to the food, all of our clambakes and BBQ include the buffet tables, serving dishes, heavy-duty disposable plates, plastic utensils, lobster bibs, napkins, wet wipes and all condiments.

What do I need to supply?
As we cook all of our meals fresh onsite, an outdoor space will be required for our setup (a minimum of 2-3 parking spots in size). Tables and chairs (for guests), beverages and tenting (if needed or desired) are things you will need to provide. Clambakes of MA can supply beverages if needed and can recommend rental companies in your area as well.

How do you serve your clambakes?

We serve all of our meals buffet style. We can setup and serve either outside or inside your venue. We will supply both the buffet tables and linens for the buffet tables.

Can I change around the menu?
Sure, while our menus are carefully tailored to maximize your experience, we realize you may like to add or remove certain items. We, along with our menus, are very flexible and would be happy to accommodate your requests. 

Do you supply waitstaff and/or bartenders?
Yes, we can supply both waitstaff and bartenders if needed. Our bartenders are licensed and provide liquor liability insurance. Clambakes of MA does not supply or sell alcoholic beverages. 

What if it rains?
Unless there is a “rain date” agreement beforehand we will bring pop-up tents to cover the buffet area and cooking area.

What form of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check and credit cards. Credit card balances are due 72 hours before your event. 

Do you service my area?
We provide our clambakes to every area of Massachusetts (with the exception of certain areas of Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard). We also cater to Vermont, New Hampshire and Rhode Island and have sister companies that cater to Connecticut and New York. 

Can you help me find a venue for my event?
We can supply you with a venue list and can also help you with any related rentals etc.

Where does your seafood come from?
We only use live cold water Maine lobsters. Our clams come from Rhode Island and our mussels come from Prince Edward Island Canada.

How do I know when the clambake season is over?
We provide services year-round. We will come to your location, prepare your food outside and serve it anyplace you like. As a matter of fact it is a terrific idea to have a event in the off-months as your guests will always remember that “clambake in the winter”.
